Besides a pretty beach, visitors enjoy touring this Civil War-era fort, built on 87 acres in 1845. Guided tours daily at noon and 2 p.m. Nominal admission charged.
Directions: South on U.S. 1, which becomes Truman Ave. in Key West. Left on Whitehead, left on Southard through Truman Annex and follow signs.

Hours: 8 a.m. - sunset

Rates: $5 per vehicle + $.50 surcharge per person. $1.50 - Each additional occupant over 8 people. $3.50 per single occupant vehicle. $1.50 - Pedestrian/bicyclist fee.
